PHOTOJOURNALISM WORK

I was a Visuals Intern at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette during the summer of 2021.

I completed several photo and video assignments daily.

I also took the course "Introduction to Photojournalism" at Penn State.

I completed various photo and video assignments over the course of the semester.

I use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic for toning/editing, and Bridge for captioning.

CLASSES & COVID:
THE PRESSURE ON
TODAY'S STUDENTS

As the world struggles to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, college students are one of many groups that have dealt with a lot of changes. For the fall 2021 semester, many institutions have returned to in-person instruction, and several Penn State students say it has been a big adjustment for them.

Second-year Penn State student Destiny Sanchez said she has a lot on her plate this semester. “All of my work is really starting to catch up to me,” Sanchez said. She also mentioned that it has been stressful to balance her classwork with clubs and other activities. Grace Field, a third-year engineering student at Penn State, agreed with Sanchez. Field said, “As I move further along in my program, I can see my classes getting harder.” She also said that this semester has been stressful in many ways.

Some Penn State students, like Sanchez, haven’t yet experienced a “normal year” in college. The pandemic has required students to be flexible and make frequent adjustments to their routine.
