SARAH SIMPSON
FILM & TELEVISION PRODUCTION

GET TO KNOW ME
Hi! My name is Sarah Simpson and I am currently pursuing a career in
video production. As my first full-time professional experience, I have been working
as a Newscast Director at CBS 21, WHP-TV since May 2022. I recently graduated from
The Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Film Production, and minors in Journalism
and Spanish. In college, I was the President of my university's student-run television network,
Penn State Network Television (PSNtv). Additionally, for 3 years I was the Director of
PSN News, a live weekly news broadcast produced by PSNtv. I was also a member
of Penn State's Centre County Report, where I directed
weekly live newscasts using Ross 'Overdrive' technology.
I'm from a small town in Westmoreland County, just outside of Pittsburgh, PA.
Growing up, I always loved watching television shows and films and hoped to make my own someday. I began studying video production my freshman year of high school through my school's program, and haven't been able to put a camera down since. I am very fortunate to have a career doing what I love, and look forward to gaining more experience in the media industry. In the future,
I am open to entry-level roles in the television or film industries, primarily
directing live production, camera work, video editing, and writing.
